YES SIR - MA'AM

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Janice Hermsen * janiceh@lrpnv.com * 775.849.3814

“This is a tell all that covers the most turbulent period in Army history, the integration of women into previously all male units. The changes that occurred between 1971 and 1974 altered the face of the Army forever.”
-Excerpt, Preface

“It’s hard working in an environment where you know you are not wanted and everyone’s waiting for you to make a mistake so they can say, ‘See, you don’t belong here.’ The pressure on the female officers during the early years of integration was horrible because there was no support system.”
—Excerpt, page 54

In 1970, Perea entered the Army as a Second Lieutenant and in 1992, she retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. During her career in the Army, she had assignments that ultimately made her a leading authority on the women in the Army during that time frame. She served as an Army recruiter at the beginning of the integration of females into previously all male units.

As a WAC Company Commander, she deactivated the last WAC Company in the US Army and spent a year in the Congressionally mandated study, MAX WAC. She also wrote her master’s thesis on the male perception of the proper utilization of the female soldier.

When she retired in 1992, she was the senior woman in the Army Transportation Corps. Following her retirement, she earned a law degree and is presently a member of the District of Columbia Bar.4

Fighting the Good Fight by Michael W. Dorn

It's about the FIGHT!

From growing up in West Texas to joining the Army after high school to eventually finding a home in Reno, this book is about fighting. As a child, I fought to belong and know my place. In the Army, I fought to be the best soldier I could be. After the Army, I fought to gain my sanity. I fought to find myself. I fought to find someone for me. After getting married, I fought for my family. After my son Liam's birth, I fought to be the best Dad I could be. I fought to always be by his side. After I was diagnosed with MS, I fought to get my sone to young adulthood so that he would be equipped with the tools and lessons to be the man that he is destined to be. Now, there is not a single day that I don't have to fight. This book is about that journey.

Our Crumbling Foundation: Will God Cancel Us?

Reno, NV, March 19, 2023: By her own account, Mist Carter was a "late-bloomer to Christianity, as well as to conservatism". When the Biden administration began taking our country "off a cliff", Mist took action. She wrote "Our Crumbling Foundation: Will God Cancel Us?" in 2021. Reviewers have said: ..."this amazing little book...spells out clearly and concisely WHY America is walking the wide road to destruction, but she also clearly gives a Holy Spirit inspired prescription that we can all take and do to take back our country". Another reviewer: "Little book with a big powerful message." And Jose, who said: "Very informative, an eye opener! For all ages, believers or not!"

Mist Carter is a retired corporate manager who became a Christian patriot following retirement. In fact, she gave her life to Christ thirty thousand feet above ground in an airplane, perhaps so she could be closer to heaven from the get-go. God quickly gifted her with a talent to write and lead women's Bible studies. She found that the frequent discussions with friends and family about politics and the state of our nation were not really doing anything to improve the situation. Her book is one of truth hope, and action. She loves God, her country, family, friends, and golf.

In 2023, she wanted to make a few revisions to the book and reach more people. This is a labor of love and proceeds she receives are donated. LeRue Press is releasing her updated edition of "Our Crumbling Foundation: Will God Cancel Us?" It is scheduled for re-release late in March, 2023.

Boy In the Corner

Reno, NV, August 4, 2021: In the 50s and 60s, children often were not diagnosed with learning disorders. Clyde D. Batavia was one of those children. LeRue Press is proud to announce the release of Boy in the Corner, a humorous and inspirational story of a young boy plagued with an undiagnosed learning disorder.

Batavia, without any professional help, learned to compensate and succeed at almost everything he attempted in his life, both in sports and the business world. The teachers were frustrated but Clyde's mother would not give up on him. With her determination and Clyde's will to succeed, he taught himself techniques that "worked for him".

As an adult, during part of his military service under the command of General Holllingsworth, Batavia served proudly and gained confidence.

He went on to run his own company and become the President of the Machinery Dealers National Association (MDNA) in Washington D.C.

Batavia has been a guest speaker all over the country on Products Liability legislation. He presently sits on the board of Tahoe Institute of Rural Health Research at Tahoe Forest Hospital.

Opportunity In Disguise: How I Defeated Adversity

An Opportunity Realized in the Face of Adversity

Reno, NV, April 21, 2021: Authors seeking to be published often face a long journey and many rejections before they get the nod and a publishing deal. LeRue Press is proud to announce the release of Opportunity in Disguise: How I Defeated Adversity by author, motivational speaker, educator, and the man who helps bring parents and teens out of the darkness in overcoming struggles, Marc Hoberman.

Hoberman, who was diagnosed with epilepsy in his teens, has not allowed it to define who he is. His book is aimed at teens and parents as they navigate difficulties from illnesses, anxiety, academics and more in a tumultuous world. Hoberman's heart-felt recommendations and guidance come from experience and years of conflict in his own life. His resilience and determination are an inspiration to everyone who meets him.
Barbara Niven, actress, producer, speaker and media advisor said in a review of Opportunity in Disguise, "I have known Marc Hoberman as a brilliant speaker and student advocate, but I never knew that he also deals with epilepsy. This book was a revelation in learning how to out-create whatever struggles we are given and turn them into gifts.
