As a WAC Company Commander, she deactivated the last WAC Company in the US Army and spent a year in the Congressionally mandated study, MAX WAC. She also wrote her master’s thesis on the male perception of the proper utilization of the female soldier. When she retired in 1992, she was the senior woman in the Army Transportation Corps.
